Lepakshi Secunderabad has organised an exhibition in Dr A S Rao Nagar, in the open grounds behind Railway Reservation Counter since 12th August till 30th August for the benefit of those living in the neighbourhood.
In addition to textiles and handicrafts of all the other states, a good collection of rare craft items like hand painted fabrics, Bidri, paintings and wooden handicrafts are also on display.

The 63rd Independence Day celebrations took place at Rani Rudrama Devi primary School premises on 15.08.09 . Sri Buddadev Chakravarthy, Lions Club President, Deepak Bhatacharya, and Ajit Nair (Lions Club member) R Krishnan and Krishna Rao of Vivekananda puram committee attended. G Krishna Murty, Rtd. Head Master and S Seetha Rama Swamy, President of Residential Association and Senior Citizens, ASARA activist addressed the children on this occasion. Satapatha Brahmana of Yajur Veda, had defined Hriday (the heart) as under,
“Hri” means “harinay” (that receives)
“Da” William Harvay, (1628 AD) a British scientist, had found that heart is essential for blood circulation, but could not describe how blood reaches the heart and flows from it. In the year 1669 a scientist named Marcello Malphigi clearly described how blood flows into Heart and comes out of it.

 A good hair rinse and hair lightener is lemon juice. Use the lemon juice as a last rinse, then stand in the sun for a sun – kissed look.
 Real pearls can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. If you wear them regularly clean them with a cloth dipped in a very dilute solution of dish – washing liquid. Wipe of with a damp cloth and dry.
 Spray the inside of your running shoes with spray starch and let dry over night. This will keep the inside clean and fresh longer.
 Use toothpaste to remove ink from your clothing. Apply for a while on the ink stain prior to washing.

The moment that we are living now is very precious and people around us are precious. We realise this only when we miss the moments and the people. The obituary page had my name and photo in it. It wasn’t too good a snap of me, I thought, as I looked at it absent-mindedly. And then I gave a cry of terror, “What’s my photo doing in the death column?” I remembered the sharp chest pain last night.

On Sunday 16 August, AFOCHS celebrated Founder’s Day at its premises in Sainikpuri. 
After paying tributes to the founder, Late Brigadier M K Rao, the present President of the society, Major Gen A V Rao, thanked Brig M K Rao for being instrumental in setting up this organisation, and for also taking active interest in the establishment of Defence Colony and Vayupuri Colony along with a School, Hospital and a Police Station in the vicinity.

Over 1,127 cannon balls belonging to the British period were found during the construction work at the dilapidated Trishul Park Government High School at Bollaram in Secunderabad on Monday.
According to the officials, construction work was taken up at the site to build a new primary government school. The labourers dug a 5-ftdeep pit and there they found three iron cannon balls.

On the same day, in the evening, in Dr AS Rao Nagar, we had the water works department, waste thousands of gallons of precious potable water by draining them on the road thereby causing traffic havoc from Sainikpuri water tank up to Officer’s Colony.Â
